Ilyas Karadeniz

Biography

Ilyas Karadeniz is an assistant professor in the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University since 2024. He was the Head of the Department of Mathematics Education for two years and the International Student Coordinator for four years at Siirt University, where
he has been a faculty member since 2017. He was a postdoc visitor researcher in the Mathematics Education Centre at Loughborough University from 2015 to 2016. Ilyas completed his PhD at the University of South Florida and his master’s and bachelor’s at
Balikesir University. His research interests are STEM education, technology in mathematics education, mathematical modelling, technology in early education, technology in higher education, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in education, financial literacy, writing activities for mathematics, mathematics curriculum and textbooks, and teacher education programs in math and science. He has published papers in peer-reviewed journals, international conference presentations and supervised masters students related to his
interests.
